Whether you sing in the shower or are a karaoke king, there's a place for you in one of our choirs! As long as you are over 18 and can commit to the rehearsals, then you're very welcome at Sing out Strong!
Some choirs are mixed and some are for women only. Please check each individual choir's page to find the right one for you. We DO allow women to sing tenor/bass and men to sing soprano/alto, where appropriate.
All our choirs meet during term times and run roughly 40 sessions per year.
1) Check out our list of choirs to find the choir nearest to you.
If an SOS Leader has to cancel a rehearsal then it will be rescheduled, you will be offered an alternative or you will join in, virtually, with another choir!
An inspirational Leader who ensures you learn material and perform as a choir as well as possible; all music and singalong learning tracks; access to our Members’ Portal; workshops, Wellness Days, regular choir socials and incredible performance opportunities all around the UK.
We pride ourselves on being accessible at Sing out Strong. Therefore, all our venues have ramp access, we have quiet spaces for privacy, we offer free places for carers, Pay As You Sing (PAYS) places for shift workers and those unable to commit weekly due to mental health difficulties, and also reduced fees for those on benefits (FAB). If you need additional support, then please email hello@singoutstrong.co.uk and request our "Support for Disability and Wellbeing" document.
We also train all of our Leaders and staff in Mental Health Safeguarding so that you have peace of mind that your wellbeing is always our top priority.
Sing out Strong is the UK’s first family of wellbeing choirs. That means we want all of our sessions to be uplifting and leave you with a song in your heart and a smile on your face. All our songs are chosen deliberately for their inspirational messages, their upbeat rhythms and their positive nature. We do not just sing pop songs, rather we try to give you a more well-rounded repertoire that supports our ethos and ensures there’s something for everyone. Be prepared to learn gospel alongside African and rock alongside folk!
Never - unless you want to.
Absolutely not! You do not need to audition for any of our choirs. As long as you enjoy singing then you’re guaranteed to be accepted at Sing out Strong (yes, even if you think you're tone deaf!). And once you've joined, you're eligible to take part in any performances we do, too!
Not at all! Even though you may be given "real" music in your hands, everything is taught by ear and then followed up with singalong rehearsal tracks on our Members' Portal.
Nope. You can just come along to practice for a good old sing and wellbeing boost. But we believe you won't be able to resist an exciting concert or two :)
You must tell us as soon as possible if you wish to leave. This is to allow for the Leaders to better plan for their forthcoming sessions. If you just disappear without a word then you will be charged for that session and may also incur fees for future sessions, too. Our Terms and Conditions document states that you must give us a minimum of 14 days' notice before the next half-term starts in order to close your account.
We do understand, however, that circumstances can suddenly change, and if for any unexpected reason you cannot pay your fees or you must leave choir immediately, then please contact us and we will do our best to wipe any outstanding charges, where applicable and at our discretion. We regret that we are unable to offer refunds for sessions not attended, other than in exceptional circumstances.
